Yesterday's Man
Alie Lynch and Gal Av-Gay are Yesterday’s Man. They have been playing music together for years, initially having toured twice across North America with the indie outfit TV Ugly, and later as part of the band Megamall, as well as both having been members of DJ On’s ‘Non La’. Yesterday’s man’s self-titled LP is the culmination of years of co-production during and before the pandemic, and represents a return to the roots of indie rock. The songs are meant to sound comforting and familiar, while the lyrics evoke the dark inner turmoil and consequential warm relief that comes from isolation. The name Yesterday’s Man is a common phrase referring to a man or politician whose career is finished or past its peak.
